Named for Sir William Pepperell, the leading man from the capture of Louisbourg in 1745, Pepperell began as scattered farm settlements along the Nashua and Nissitissit Rivers.

With ties to colonial history and the Revolutionary War, Pepperell’s rich history is present throughout the town today, including architecture and historic districts that celebrate its antiquity, like the Lawrence Library and the town’s oldest war monuments.
