Sherry Skeen
Sherry grew up in Jefferson, MA, and attended Worcester State College.
She decided to follow in her husband Brian’s footsteps and become a hearing instrument specialist after seeing firsthand how much someone’s life can be changed for the better with a tiny hearing device. Having seen patients overcome so many obstacles, Sherry wanted to be a part of their life-changing experience. Little did she know how much working with patients would change her life as well!
Sherry is proud to wear many hats at Mass Hearing Specialists. A typical workday includes answering phone calls; resolving questions from current and potential patients; scheduling appointments; testing and fitting patients with hearing devices; performing regular cleaning maintenance of hearing aids; and processing claims with the many insurance companies the office is credentialed with.
Sherry cherishes the relationships she works hard to develop with her patients. She feels that rather seeing patient after patient, she sees friend after friend. Sherry loves her work so much that it doesn’t feel like work. She genuinely enjoys her time in each appointment.
Outside of the office, Sherry can’t help but joke about all the laundry and cleaning that comes with having a husband, three sons, and lots of animals at home. All jokes aside, though, she says her family is the best part of her life. She knows she will miss the chaos one day, so she tries to enjoy the madness and have fun!
Sherry enjoys growing indoor plants, though she admits she isn’t particularly good at it. She says the ocean and Disney are her favorite places to be and believes there is nothing more relaxing than the sound of the waves on the beach and nothing more memorable than Disney magic with her family.
Just for Fun
If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?
This was a very hard question.
I have a two-part answer. My dad died when I was 21. There was a lot left unsaid and unasked. I'd like to have that moment, but it wouldn't take an entire meal (I don't think)
Part 2 is cheesy, but I'd honestly choose my husband. No phones and no kids. We work together and play together. He is my best friend. There is no one I'd rather spend time with. I've had many patients lose their spouse and share many words of wisdom. The most common is to appreciate each other. Sometimes this is easier said than done. I choose my husband to have dinner with any day, all the time, forever!
